Every Cornerstone roofing project carries a 10-year insurance-backed warranty, alongside the relevant material guarantee from the manufacturer.
Reliable, high-quality work before, during, and after the scaffold comes down.
Our roofers are always available to respond to emergency repairs in Mid Sussex. Over time, even the most expertly fitted and highest grade roofs can encounter issues or sustain damage due to harsh weather conditions. At Cornerstone Roofing in Mid Sussex, serving areas like Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill, we offer a thorough roofing repair service. Our team conducts a detailed inspection to identify any damage or defects in your roof. Following the assessment, we provide professional advice and perform necessary repairs. In cases of urgent roof repair needs, particularly when the damage is significant, we might implement a temporary fix to mitigate further issues until a complete repair can be executed.
Every roofing system we repair is one we also install, and that is what makes the difference on a repair. Our roofers work across pitched roofs in tile, slate, stone and shingle, flat roofs in built-up felt, EPDM, GRP, liquid membrane and single ply, and traditional leadwork on chimney flashings, soakers and valleys. Knowing how each of those systems is built is what tells us whether a leak is one failed detail or a covering that has reached the end of its life.
From the ground the two look much the same, which is why we inspect the whole roof rather than the patch of ceiling the water is showing on. We set out what we find, carry out the repair, and back the workmanship with our 10-year insurance-backed warranty alongside the manufacturer guarantee on any materials fitted. Where a repair is genuinely the right answer, a repair is what we quote for.
Where the covering itself has failed rather than a single detail, patching stops being worth the money, and we would rather say so at the free visit than after the second repair. New and replacement flat roofs in any of those systems are covered on our flat roofing page, and full re-roofs on our roof replacement and re-roofing page.

Replacement of an old and large Velux plus replacements of a few hanging tiles. Good communication, flexible on the timescale to link in with other contract work. The two man team 'gang' worked hard, very diligent, professional, cleaned up well afterwards and it looks very professional. I did feel the project was over priced but I needed it done, however invoiced as their estimate so it was my call to make.![]()

Cornerstone provided a professional survey of our rather unusual shape garden room roof and came up with a quotation that seemed very reasonable for the work required which included removing 5x polycarbonate sheets on a sloping part of the roof, installing boarding and three layers of felt in their place plus re-felting a triangular flat portion of the roof to make a seamless felted roof. The gang arrived onsite ontime and worked really hard in the extreme heatwave. Plenty of tea and cold drinks supplied! The roof was completed ontime and looks very neat. I was particularly impressed with the 'above and beyond' attitude they applied to the job to make sure that it would provide good drainage in wet weather straight into the gutter. 25 year guarantee too!![]()

I have tried to get a reliable roofing company to replace my house gutters and downpipes for several months. I finally spoke to Cornerstone Roofing a few weeks back. I can honestly say it was the best phone call I have made in several years. From start to finish Cornerstone were superb. Fantastic communication, site inspection, quote and completion of work. I very rarely write reviews because there is little exceptional to write about but Cornerstone deserves every one of the five stars I have given them on this review. They are honest, professional, competitive, give transparent advice and the work carried out was nothing short of perfect. If I ever require roofing work to be done in the future I have only one number to call and will have no hesitation in using Cornerstone as my first point of contact.![]()

Cornerstone roofing removed a skylight, then boarded over the gap, and re boarded and felted our garage roof. I was really impressed with all the guys that did the job, they were efficient and friendly and really clean and tidy. The workmanship was really good. Would definitely recommend them! However, it did take ages to receive a quote and the admin side was not quite as efficient which was a shame but the work and roofers were great so would definitely use again. 5 stars! Thank you!![]()

Roof repair costs depend entirely on what’s actually wrong. A couple of slipped tiles, a chimney flashing repair, a re-bedded ridge, a localised flat-roof patch, and a full re-roof are all very different jobs. We’d rather see the roof first than give a misleading ballpark, so we book a free visit, identify the cause of the problem, and provide a written quote so you know exactly what’s covered before any work starts.
Yes. We offer an emergency call-out service across Mid Sussex for active leaks, storm damage, and roof failures that can’t safely wait. Where a permanent repair isn’t possible the same day, often because of weather, materials, or the scope of the damage, we’ll fit a temporary fix to make the roof watertight and come back to carry out the full repair afterwards.
We repair every kind of roof we install. That includes pitched roof repairs (slipped, cracked or missing tiles and slates, ridge tile re-bedding, valley repairs, hip detailing), flat roofs (felt, EPDM, GRP, single-ply, liquid membranes), lead detailing (chimney flashings, soakers, valleys, lead aprons), and the associated guttering, soffits and fascias. If you’re not sure what’s causing a leak, we’ll inspect the whole roof and explain what we find.
We respond to repair enquiries across Mid Sussex as quickly as we practically can, prioritising active leaks and storm damage where the property itself is at risk. Exact timing varies with workload, weather and the urgency of the issue, but emergency call-outs always sit at the front of the queue. The earlier you flag a leak, the easier and cheaper the repair usually is.
That depends on the age of the roof, how widespread the damage is, and what’s underneath. Localised damage on a sound roof is almost always cheaper to repair than to replace. But if the roof is at the end of its life, the timbers are sagging or saturated, repairs are recurring, or the damage is widespread, a full roof replacement usually works out better long-term. We’ll inspect, set out the realistic options, and let you decide. We don’t quote for a full re-roof unless that’s genuinely the right call.
Yes. All of our roof repair work is backed by a 10-year insurance-backed warranty on our workmanship, plus the relevant manufacturer guarantees on any materials fitted. The terms are set out in writing alongside your quote so you know exactly what’s covered before work begins.
