Glebe House, Haywards Heath

We’re proud to showcase Glebe House, a project that has been recognised as a 2025 Finalist in the NFRC UK Roofing Awards within the Roof Tiling category. With a record number of entries submitted this year across 16 disciplines, reaching the finalist stage highlights the exceptional quality delivered on this installation.

Completed in Haywards Heath, this pitched roofing and verticals project was undertaken in collaboration with Heath Construction, with Cornerstone Roofing carrying out the roofing works. The installation features Burnt Oak tiles, chosen for their character and long-term durability.

The project included a full roof and verticals renovation, supported by Cornerstone Scaffolding, whose expertise ensured a safe and efficient programme throughout. A permeable felt membrane was installed to promote breathability and longevity, while Sussex Lead Work completed the lead components with precision and care.

Becoming a finalist in the UK Roofing Awards reflects the high standard of workmanship delivered across every stage of this project.

Good communication,  flexible on the timescale to link in with other contract work. The two man team 'gang' worked hard, very diligent, professional, cleaned up well afterwards and it looks very professional. Cornerstone provided a professional survey of our rather unusual shape garden room roof and came up with a quotation that seemed very reasonable for the work required which included removing 5x polycarbonate sheets on a sloping part of the roof, installing boarding and three layers of felt in their place plus re-felting a triangular flat portion of the roof to make a seamless felted roof. The gang arrived onsite ontime and worked really hard in the extreme heatwave. Plenty of tea and cold drinks supplied! The roof was completed ontime and looks very neat. I was particularly impressed with the 'above and beyond' attitude they applied to the job to make sure that it would provide good drainage in wet weather straight into the gutter. 25 year guarantee too!

I finally spoke to Cornerstone Roofing a few weeks back. I can honestly say it was the best phone call I have made in several years. From start to finish Cornerstone were superb. Fantastic communication, site inspection, quote and completion of work. I very rarely write reviews because there is little exceptional to write about but Cornerstone deserves every one of the five stars I have given them on this review. They are honest, professional, competitive, give transparent advice and the work carried out was nothing short of perfect. I was really impressed with all the guys that did the job, they were efficient and friendly and really clean and tidy. The workmanship was really good. Would definitely recommend them!

Commercial roofing sits alongside our domestic work. We re-cover and replace flat roofs in single ply, built-up felt and liquid systems, carry out pitched roofing and full re-roofing, and cover leadwork and guttering.
