Replacement of an old and large Velux plus replacements of a few hanging tiles. Good communication, flexible on the timescale to link in with other contract work. The two man team 'gang' worked hard, very diligent, professional, cleaned up well afterwards and it looks very professional. I did feel the project was over priced but I needed it done, however invoiced as their estimate so it was my call to make.![]()

Cornerstone provided a professional survey of our rather unusual shape garden room roof and came up with a quotation that seemed very reasonable for the work required which included removing 5x polycarbonate sheets on a sloping part of the roof, installing boarding and three layers of felt in their place plus re-felting a triangular flat portion of the roof to make a seamless felted roof. The gang arrived onsite ontime and worked really hard in the extreme heatwave. Plenty of tea and cold drinks supplied! The roof was completed ontime and looks very neat. I was particularly impressed with the 'above and beyond' attitude they applied to the job to make sure that it would provide good drainage in wet weather straight into the gutter. 25 year guarantee too!![]()

I have tried to get a reliable roofing company to replace my house gutters and downpipes for several months. I finally spoke to Cornerstone Roofing a few weeks back. I can honestly say it was the best phone call I have made in several years. From start to finish Cornerstone were superb. Fantastic communication, site inspection, quote and completion of work. I very rarely write reviews because there is little exceptional to write about but Cornerstone deserves every one of the five stars I have given them on this review. They are honest, professional, competitive, give transparent advice and the work carried out was nothing short of perfect. If I ever require roofing work to be done in the future I have only one number to call and will have no hesitation in using Cornerstone as my first point of contact.![]()

Cornerstone roofing removed a skylight, then boarded over the gap, and re boarded and felted our garage roof. I was really impressed with all the guys that did the job, they were efficient and friendly and really clean and tidy. The workmanship was really good. Would definitely recommend them! However, it did take ages to receive a quote and the admin side was not quite as efficient which was a shame but the work and roofers were great so would definitely use again. 5 stars! Thank you!![]()

Great service, very professional from start to finish.
Our reach extends across Mid Sussex, ensuring that both residential and commercial properties can benefit from our expert leadwork services.
We cover the full range of leadwork you’d expect on a UK property. That includes flat lead sheet roofing, lead flashing around chimneys, vents and roof junctions, lead cladding, lead capping for parapets and boundary walls, chimney aprons, backs, step flashing and soakers, lead valleys and gullies, lead guttering, and dormer or bay window lead roof coverings. Anything that needs a properly-formed lead detail, we install.
Lead is one of the longest-lasting traditional roofing materials, often outlasting other coverings by a significant margin when it’s correctly installed. The lifespan depends on the lead being properly fixed, joined and supported, with enough allowance for thermal movement. Most failures trace back to fixing or detailing rather than the lead itself, which is why workmanship matters more on leadwork than on almost any other roofing job.
Look out for cracks, splits or fatigue lines along the lead surface (most often around step flashings and at joints), lead lifting or pulling away from chimneys or walls, patches of fresh-looking shiny lead stuck to older lead (usually a sign of past patching), water marks or damp on internal walls below leadwork, and pooling or water ingress at lead valleys and gullies. Cracks and splits often mean the lead was originally fixed without enough room to expand and contract; a proper replacement reforms the detail correctly.
Leadwork costs depend on the size of the job, the type of detail (a step flashing is very different from a full lead roof), the lead grade required for the application, access and scaffolding needs, and any associated repairs to the masonry, timbers or surrounding roof covering. Rather than quote blind, we book a free visit, take measurements, and provide a written quote based on the specific job.
Yes. Chimney flashings are one of our most-common leadwork jobs. We replace cracked, lifted or perished step flashings, aprons, soakers and back gutters around chimneys, dressing the lead correctly into the brickwork or stone and re-pointing the chase joints to seal the detail. Done properly, a fresh chimney flashing should be watertight for decades.
All of our leadwork is backed by a 10-year insurance-backed warranty on our workmanship, alongside the relevant manufacturer guarantees on the lead and any associated materials. Lead is a long-life material, but it’s the workmanship that determines how it actually performs. The warranty reflects that.
Yes. We carry out lead work across Sussex from our base in Scaynes Hill, including Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, Cuckfield, Hurstpierpoint, Hassocks, Lindfield and the surrounding Mid Sussex villages. From single chimney flashings to full lead sheet roofs on dormers, bays, and traditional buildings, lead is a specialist part of what we do.
